I know this is literally the GOT/R&M/Reddit board now but how would you adapt Don Quixote to film? Who would you cast? Who would you want to direct?

Didn't Terry Gilliam literally just finish filming a Don quixote movie?
I'd make it a loose adaptation that takes place across early-america during The 2nd Great Awakening. Don is a war veteran with a head injury that has given him messianic delusions and preaches a unique strain of utopian millienialism and wanders across the fledgling country trying to spread his message accompanied by his companion who is a skeptical enlightenment rationalist in the mold of thomas paine.

Based Terry Gilliam has been on it for years now. I'm so very interested to see what sort of crazy shit he's gonna come up with.

You wouldn't have modern movies without the breakthrough that was Don Quixote.
Mark Rylance as Don
Jack Black as Sancho
Wasn't there a recent film by Malik or another fellow that used MfLM's structure without ever alluding to it?
