I unironically think They Were Eleven would make a great live action adaptation.

The premise is very simple - Ten space cadets are left on a decommissioned spaceship and told to survive as their final test. If one quits they all fail. When they get on board, a quick headcount reveals They Were Eleven. One of them is an imposter. As the ship flies into danger, and systems get sabotaged, they must figure out who it is, and why.

All the actual details, characters, plot, and resolution from the anime and manga can be completely rewritten as needed
