I was honestly afraid that this season would pull its punches with Dany and Jon Snow, but so far it's looking like they're not. The whole point of the ASOIAF series is about taking stock fantasy tropes and archetypes and putting them in a "real" world with "real" politics and conflicts. Last episode was just an extension of that core question: what would a fairytale princess actually have to do if she wanted to reclaim her family's throne?

Personally one my favorite characters is Theon, because he's one of the only people who really-truly "gets it". He used to think he was a nobleman, that he could play the games of politics and make himself into a hero, but he learned the hard way that he couldn't, that the world is cruel and evil and that heroes don't fucking exist. He also learned how to run. Theon has become fucking great and running. He has mastered the art of wimping his way to survival, hanging on by the skin of his teeth, but still living. If there is any one character who will survive this series, I think it's going to be Theon, because he has fully embraced the law that it doesn't matter how smart you are, how strong or wise or honorable or morally upstanding, if you're dead then none of that means shit. Survive, then change the world. Survive.

About the lannisters lining up, we were trained to do it on command.
The shouts you hear are what we had.
Form the line, spears and shields etc.

The line was set for one or two practice runs, then we had to form it ourselves afterwards.
If you each have a simple instruction, it works pretty well and doesn't have to be faked.
A real lannister army with sufficient training would do it without thinking.
They'd been in a battle a few days before even.

A lot of what was filmed wasn't shown, so it does go at a faster pace in the episode.

Dany doesn't fly in straight lines back and forth like Space Invaders. She sees a siege weapon (which from an army that just took a castle is not a surprising thing to see), swings around, and lines up a run. There's about 7 seconds between the dragon wheeling and when it was shot, and about 6.9 between when it was wheeling and when it was ordered to burn Bronn.

They both want personal power. But for Cersei it is an absolute necessity, or else she dies. For Dany, she could have lived happily the queen of Mereen or some shit. Youre clearly a chick or someone with a crush on Dany to ignore this.

Except she couldn't, because she didn't want to be Queen of Mereen. Just like Cersei couldn't be content as Robert's royal consort and mother of his children, or as someone hiding out in Braavos with a shipload of stolen money and retainers, defending herself from Robert's attempts to get back at her. They both wanted to be Queen of Westeros; Cersei just also wanted her incest babies to rule after her.
