At its core it's a fairly traditional lawyer/investigation show but everything it does, it does exceptionally well, the best way to describe it would be mature and elegant. It also heavily focuses on the inner workings of political campaigns. It doesn't feel like a basic network show. The writing is sharp and subtle, the direction is tasteful (produced by Ridley Scott's company), the musical score relies on classical music instead of generic TV music, etc. It's also great at building its own universe with a lot of small details or recurring characters, anything that happens can have consequences throughout the show. It involves a lot of political and media satire, but it always feels balanced and never takes the easy side on serious issues. There's some relationship drama and love triangle, which is also dealt with in a mature fashion, it shows characters being responsible and making subtle compromises, they don't behave like high school teenagers like on most TV shows. The "good wife" of the title is used somewhat ironically and a front she puts up for political reasons. She actually has a great character arc throughout the show.

It also BTFOs reddit, depicts anonymous culture fairly, is footfag-friendly and often casually redpills on Jewish influence in politics.
