Part of the reason Plinkett reviews work so well is because you usually have a group of people/fanboys in complete denial about whatever is being reviewed and they get BTFO.

(The prequels for example had a lot of fanboy defenders, and many people also knew they were bad movies, but no one cared enough to really articulate in detail the reasons why until Plinkett came along)
