When I first saw it (and I'm fairly sure it was the first Pixar movie I saw) over a decade ago I didn't like it not because I thought it was bad but because I've always found the MC-fucking-up-for-his-entire-colony aspect to be distressing, along with the antagonist having an entire fucking army. What made it a great movie didn't make it a proper children's movie. I still remember watching it countless times though so I'm still surprised to find out that people just genuinely see it as a bad Pixar's film. Don't know why, the storytelling's still solid
