The series went on for too long and his character went back and forth far too much. He'd start to become a sympathetic character, then the next minute they'd have him do something fucked up. It was basically rinse and repeat at that point.

Mahone on the other hand felt more real as a character.

It's okay, some moments are great, others aren't so great. The new characters are interesting, and we get to see Scofield's ingenuity again.

The retcons were a little more noticeable for me since I binged the series less than a month before the revival started. Still, they mostly keep to continuity (while avoiding any mention of the Company).

i thought season 2 was pretty kino, at least the way it followed up with the whole idea of them being on the run post-break. It stopped being so great when the Company shit got more and more convoluted and dumb
