Yeah it seems like a corny little comedy on the surface but it was a sensation when it came out. Think how Borat was when it came out but stretched over the course of ~5 years

>Very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Some times he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy, the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical, summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds, pretty standard really. At the age of 12 I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum, it's breathtaking, I suggest you try it.

Mike Myers was pretty much at his peak back then. he had build a good reputation with the wayne's world movies and people were blown away by AP 1&2, especially after they found out that he had multiple roles. so of course he got these people to star in his film. then everything went down the hill

Scary movie is the spoof series that is actually reddit incarnate.
Its humour is mostly week old pop culture references and it can't even stick to its own premise for longer than 10 mintues without detours into spoofing completely unrelated movies.

Austins Powers for better or worse actually has crafted jokes and is focused on only sending up one time period and one type of film.

21 is a perfect, more or less unbeatable hand in blackjack. You try to get as close to 21 as possible without going over. 17 is a decent hand, and there's a lot of risk hitting (asking for another card) at 17, since you could easily go over 21 and lose.

Number 2 hits on 17 because he lives dangerously. It pays off and he gets a perfect hand. Austin has to match 21, or he loses. He's sitting at 5, where you literally cannot go over 21 with a single card, so there's no point in not hitting - if he stays, he automatically loses, since Number 2 has 21. He stays, since he also likes to live dangerously, and instantly loses.
