No that was one of those "the white saviour helps the natives" movies like Avatar.

In all truthfulness, most of the Native population was killed off by the various illnesses brought over by Westerners, not the mass slaughtering of people. Had they kept peaceful relations, the Natives still would have taken a massive hit to their numbers from not being able to fend off foreign diseases.
