Check out Amy's Baking Company. It's a perfect example of what makes Kitchen Nightmares so comfy. Gordon acts as a part-detective/part-savior who flirts with a cute/endearing waitress who is suffering under an incompetant/abusive/psychotic boss. Throw in an emotionally dead chef who gets their passion reignited and you've got a recipe for success.
As for Hotel Hell, an Anon a few replies up posted a link to a pretty great episode.
Lastly, look up the Conan bit where Gordon tried to teach Norm MacDonald how to cook. It makes me really wish they had a travel show, great chemistry.

Hell's kitchen is mostly filler, just check out the Uncensored Swearing Highlights on YouTube. Maybe the Signature Dish compilations as well. Lots of good schadenfreude there.
As for MasterChef, it's never really been my thing, but the kids version is goddamn adorable. However, Gordon isn't really the main focus. He isn't even the Simon Cowell of the three-judge format, he's the Randy Jackson. It's some bald cunt who takes one look at the food, says something to the effect of "what an insult", and throws it in the trash. Really drags down the show. But hey, it might be your thing.
