The first book is quite different from the rest. At that point in time it was difficult to get fantasy books published unless you wrote Tolkien like fantasy. Egwene is the most insufferable pompous self-important twat on the planet, and considering how popular Daenerys is, I'm sure she'll be very well received.

WoT books are awful beyond the first like 3 books. Series literally peaked on book 2. It will never make a good series unless they seriously cut out all of the fat(read: 70% of the content) and considerably rewrite most of the cast so that they aren't all essentially clones of each other(Elayne was the only character who wasn't an utter bitch early on, and even she morphs into Nynaeve by book 4 or 5). Also do something about the awkward, unfathomable teenage shyness dialogue. These people are fucking adults and after even years of fucking they're still blushing at each other and giving romantic dialogue you'd expect out of a bad teen movie.

The series will be a train wreck. I will be watching.
