Goodfellas simply because it had the better plot for a feature film.

Casino nowdays would have worked better as a mini-series on Netflix. Still a decent film (and technically stunning), but Goodfellas has a really simple, great feature film narrative. While also being technically stunning.

I'm curious about the Irishman. I hope it's good. That's about all I can do.

Once Upon A Time In America gets consistently overlooked. I think it's because the initial release got so trashed and it wasn't until the Directors Cut that anyone got to see the film properly and appreciate it.

A. More people under retirement age have seen Goodfellas than The Godfather now.

B. The critical consensus for Goodfellas is near unanimous, while some people find The Godfather too romantacized.

C. Scorseses reputation far exceeds that of Coppolas now, and Coppola hasn't made anything worth watching since the mid 80's. (and a brief blip with Dracula in the 90's)

They start shooting later this month.

Netflix will be releasing it exclusively late next year apparently. Paramount dropped out beacuse of the 125 million + budget (owing to heavy effects work) and STX pulled out 50 million once Netfix pitched for distribution rights.

But they are apparently starting this month, and they got a full cast/crew etc booked.
