>cramming (at least) 3 books, totalling about 2,000 pages, into one film

ghostbusters level race baiting is about to begin to cover this flop.
what's sad is that Idris would be a fine Rowland.

>Be Sony
>Go into joint production with a company
>Give yourself and this new company sweeping veto and editing powers, as well as final cut
>Wow, nobody can agree on anything
Who saw that coming? Not Sony.

>A Stephen King adaption is going to be bad
Wow
Did anyone watch LotR? You can barely pack one fantasy book into a decent movie. Granted, this is King, he's not terribly deep, but it's still a stretch. The only good King adaptations were Shawshank and The Mist, everything else has been garbage (the shining doesn't really count since Kubrik doesn't even pretend to care about the book).
This movie is going to suck dog balls after they've been removed and left in the trash for a week in summer.
Sony fucked up again.

>Co-writer Akiva Goldsman
>Works include Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, A Beautiful Mind, I, Robot, Cinderella Man, Da Vinci Code, I am Legend, Angels and Demons, 20 episodes of Fringe, Winter's Tale, Insurgent, 5th Wave
Not to mention that crazy son of a bitch Tom Rothman in charge.

isn't it like 90 minutes also?
>>85769512
Yeah, it's standard length or maybe even a little shorter IIRC.

It's not cramming 3 books. It's using aspects from books 1-3 and 5-7 (probably). It doesn't have Susan and Eddie so it isn't the entire fucking books.
