What's the "correct" answer to the Voight-Kampff tortoise question?
various racial slurs

Flipping it over. Philip Dick’s point is that it’s neither our neat opposable thumbs, nor our bulbous cerebrums, nor our relative hairlessness, nor the vertical pitch of our spines that makes us human. It’s our empathy. Our common decency. Our there-but-for-the-grace-of-God-go-I-ism.

Dolphins have empathy, but they also have a confirmed desire to rape.

Like a turtle, you fucking replicant.

>Dolphins have empathy, but they also have a confirmed desire to rape.
So do blacks. But blacks don't have empathy and they're still concidered human... I lost my point.

But plenty of humans do bad shit to animals for fun. They'll probably a dozen posts in this thread from budding school shooter edgelords bragging about killing turtles before this thread is archived.

You never had a point, retard
I think the correct answer is to laugh at the absurd nature of the question. Or possibly say "I put it right way up". Because the conditions of the question set up that you yourself were the one to flip it over, it would be illogical that you'd have a sudden change of heart and set things right so I imagine a replicant would consider it a 'wrong' answer.

it IS the wrong answer
there isn't an 'answer' its just a prompt so the interviewer can see your reaction, presumably replicants aren't calibrated for abstract scenarios and act strangely
The point is how you physically respond to the question, not the words you say. The correct answer would be for your pupils to change slightly and your heart rate to rise and your body to tense up at being asked an uncomfortable question.
Christ I forget how dumb you people are sometimes.

Wasn't there a news story last week about 3 niggers that smashed a turtle to death that was trying to get to the lake? And then beat up an old man that asked them to stop torturing it?
