How many seasons would you say is ideal for a tv series?
I'd say it's 5 or 6
any more than that and it starts to feel like a meme

1-3. 6 episodes each.
>american cuisine
Only as much as the writers can prepare for ahead of time. The ending should always be planned.

5 at most, 3 at best. Seinfeld managed 9 thanks to Jew comedy magic.
it varies by network/production type
if its a 20-something episode per season type of show, tops 3 seasons before it craps out.
if its one of those 8-10 episodes per season shows, 4-5 seasons tops.

Name one show that doesn't get shitty after season 3.
3 seasons.
8 episodes.
45 minutes an episode.
>>85745361
one
As long as it needs to be
>>85746053
what are you basing this off of?
>>85746000
TNG, Stargate SG-1, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec,
DS9, Timm's Justice League.

3 seasons, if they havent gotten it right by then, then they were never going to.

And on your left folks you'll see a fine specimen of a /tv/ contrarian. This little fella likes to get his kicks by not liking things other people like.
>>85746000
X-Files was solid through the first five seasons.
>>85748868
But then once they find their groove, can't they keep going and then end it when it looks like the next season might go downhill?
>>85748920
6 was good too.
>>85745361
6 seasons and a movie.
>>85745361
It depends on the type of show. comedy is as long as it is consistently good,
Arrested Development 1-3 great, 4 acceptable shit compared the other seasons.
If it is story based then after season 3 things usually take a turn for the worst, Homeland, House of Cards, Game of Thrones all kinda sucked after 3 seasons.

30 Rock got shitty in season 3but rebounded in season 5
