I know nothing about Doctor Strange, though, and I immediately knew how the entire movie would play out in structure by the time he met the ancient one. Plus there were zero witty lines in the movie. Creative action scenes, though.

the movie was so forcefully made to be different to everything else marvel has done, that it mostly bypassed all the marvel normies.
Its the type a movie that looks great in the cinema, but not as great everywhere else.
