This movie really underperformed, the right people still got rich as usual but they were probably expecting easily twice as much. I doubt Marvel cares because their Z-listers make what Spider-Man should, the real long-term consequences will be for Sony. From what I hear, they're already working on a non-MCU Venom and their contract with Marvel Studios ends after Avengers 4. It ended up being a bum deal they won't be able to bank off of so it's either back to making TASM tier disappointments or giving up and letting the rights revert mack to Disney once and for all. They only agreed to this partnership because they were hoping after Marvel got what they needed out of Spider-Man's presence to boost ticket sales for Civil War/Avengers, they'd be able to continue profiting off that good faith long after they parted ways with MCU and went back to making non-MCU movies.

Movie rights and merch rights are 2 different things, and in the case of the videogame while it is merchandise it's still a PS4 exclusive game which means Sony as the publisher still gets a huge share of the profit, just like the actual developers do. The people who make and distribute merch still get paid genius, it's just that Disney get's the biggest share of the profit for simply owning the rights.
