Anyone else wish Netflix would give some of their films proper theatrical releases?
>Martin Scorsese
>Orson Welles
>Bong Joon-ho
>Dan Gilroy
>Gareth Evans
>Jeremy Saulnier
All have Netflix films that will never be properly experienced in the theater and that's just off the top of my head.
On the one hand I'm glad these films are getting made but I wish they were given a chance in the theater first.
Amazon gives some of their films theatrical release and it works out pretty well for them. Why doesn't Netflix give that a shot?
How do you feel about Netflix's release strategy?

is it that different from not being able to see the pilot of boardwalk empire or vinyl in the theater?
>>85676209
Yes because those are tv shows meant for tv. These films were not conceived to be seen on tv.

I'd like it if they would, but it doesn't really effect me because the only theater in town only shows the widest of wide releases. Most Amazon movies don't end up going to all theaters.

Big Sick made it to 2,500 theaters. They're starting to really go wide with some of their releases. I think Manchester By The Sea did 1,500 theaters or something.
I wish Netflix would put some of their original movies on home release as well.

Both of those movies came to my theater, but not Gimme Danger, or The Handmaiden, or Patterson, or The Salesman. I think they are getting a little wider though. That's good.
Past week:
>go to watch Firefly on netflix 'n shill
>it isn't there anymore
>go to watch House, M.D. on netflix 'n shill
>isn't there anymore
>nothing but meme tier comedy is available anymore
>go to watch Inglorious Basterds
>multiple errors in subtitles
Dropped, amirite?
I'm not worried about their release strategies because I'd be worried about those guys making it that far. I see why other services are getting recommended over these incompetent pricks now.

Your taste is awful so I don't know why you're acting all high and mighty.

well report the subs if they're bad

Not when I can gain access to better subtitles for free from an easily accessible torrent. It's way beside the point to do their job for them.

>Dan Gilroy
what?
>>85678692
He's making a movie with Jake Gyllenhaal for Netflix.
>>85680142
Oh shit. What's it about?
>>85680697
Unknown plot except it is set in the art world. Gilroy has a film coming out later this year though. A legal thriller starring Denzel Washington and Colin Farrell.

Damn I didn't know that Denzel movie was coming out this year
Thank you
