This. It was a nice nod to how our gods all have the same mother like Jesus = Mary, Buddha = Maya (variant), etc.

It isn't just her hair. She's covered up and isn't surrounded by animals.
Death by Hanging, it's pure alienationkino with a Kafkaesque tone and a Brechtian style.

This is probably my favorite film but I don't find it particularly "thought provoking", at least more so than any other film of comparable quality. Imo it speaks more to universal human truths than anything that you have to really analyze intellectually.

I am actively engaged with almost every movie I ever watch. I spend a decent amount of energy trying to count the cuts and figure out where the camera is, or how the shot was gotten. I think about every movie. I know this is gonna come off as autistic, but that's just me
Every movie can make you think by having you ponder it's themes/message/depiction of characters and comparing them to your own experiences. for example manchester by the sea really made me notice the beauty of tragedy and how much love people felt for one another as a result of the most horrible of things. Usually though for people to think it has to do be something that deals with mortality and being a human, so syndoche ny, mr nobody and other stuff like that do the trick.

>Has to ask "is this mIley?!?"
>i'm totally not an autistic faceblind retard
I hate movies that have to make me think. It's just entertainment, I want to be taken for a ride, not do a 15 page paper on complex concepts. Some movies are full of it.
>>85635254
yeah i hate it when movie theaters requires a 15 pages thesis in order to watch a film :/ really sux

I'm so glad some anon actually made a vocaroo of this shit
Not a movie but Game of Thrones.
When they were like: "bad guys win sometimes", I was like wow.
Then one episode they were like, "girl fite boy, girl win" I was like, wow!
THEN, they had this one episode, where they were like, "war is bad", and then I just fucking lost it, my mind got CLEGANE'D.
