>Universal's Dark Universe could have been great
>Heroes defeat monsters, but they're immortal so they keep coming back for sequels
>Shared universe comes in when the heroes all meet up to take down a big bad, like Dracula
>Frankenstein could have been the Dark Universe's Captain America
>Heroes could be a combination of archaeologists, detectives, journalists, etc who are the only ones who know about the monsters until an Avengers-style movie blows the lid off the whole thing
>Eventually Lovecraft characters could have been brought in
>All if The Mummy wasn't a shitty action movie
Where were you when movies a shit?

>Universal's Dark Universe could have been great
I wish that were true just so we could have Frankenstein, the Wolfman, Dracula, the Black Lagoon Creature and the Mummy in one modern movie.

It pains me that the only modern Dr. Jekyll is that shitty BBC piece of trash.
Can you fucking imagine? A Dark Universe movie where Dr. Jekyll is the hero and Mr. Hyde is the villain? You obviously can't surprise the audience, but goddamn would it have been great.
>TFW no Invisible Man movie where a detective in the police force spends the whole movie trying to find him

Man I want another creature from the black lagoon movie. The original was fantastic. Universal screwed this film up bad (with the help of Tom Cruise). And the last invisible Man movie we got was the hollowman. It was good but, I think a new invisible Man could have been better. We won't get any of it though since universal doesn't understand that a monster movie is a horror movie
