What does /tv/ think of the Cornetto trilogy? Personally I'd say:
Shaun of the Dead > The World's End > Hot Fuzz, but they're all decent.
Shaun: 9/10
Hot Fuzz: 8.5/10
The World's End: 8/10
Great trilogy.
slightly related but does anyone know of any other directors with a visual style like Edgar Wright?

World's end and Fred were fucking awful
They were all 4/10 desu

Shitty choices from me but closest I can think of is Tarantino and Michael Winterbottom's 24 hour party people

the thing is these movies are considered unfunny trash in britain
you, the american, only find them funny because of the zany accents and lingo
spaced/shaun of dead/hot fuzz/worlds end are to britain what big mama's house is to america and viced-versa

Nice copy pasta.

britbong here, neck yourself Jew
How's Scott Pilgrim? Only recently found out it's a Wright film.

To me he feels like an updated, video game generation version of fanboys filmmakers like Sam Raimi, Joe Dante, Zemeckis, Landis.

I can kinda see that, he has aspects of that frenetic style found in all these British filmmakers who come from TV or advertising, also Boyle or Guy Ritchie, who overuse jumpcuts or random flashy camera gimmicks. I really dislike it and it's the part of Wright's style DNA that always puts me off, although he probably does it for parody reasons.

This isn't even remotely true. Nice pasta by the way

I have the same ranking as you OP, however /tv/ will trash it because they have a raging boner for HF, that i personally can't understand.
Shaun is a modern classic.

The kind of movie smelly neckbeards and ugly otaku girls like. Watch at your own risk.

Shaun of the Dead was a quirky zombie movie that blended in humor and humanity seamlessly, while World's End just went full absurdity. Hot Fuzz for me kinda floated between those two tones, which is why it's my least favorite. Still loved all three, though.

My problem with it it's the lack of heart.
Sure, it's funny, and well done. Editing it's absolutely brilliant.
But i never felt for these people nor cared for them being in danger.
Shaun has an absurd emotional resonance for me for some reason. (That Bill Night scene in the car, his mom...). It never fails to make me tear up.
TWE have the nostalgia and the whole fuck-up/loser feels. It's great watching Pegg's character owning his failure at the end, great catharsis.

Some of the quick cuts and music editing remind me of Scorsese.
