Or just "watching _____", where blank is the show/movie they're watching. "Watching tv" implied you weren't really watching anything in particular, but just browsing the channels, getting your daily dose of advertisements. People are already more inclined to just watch the show they want to watch, and not sit around hoping something pops up they want to watch.
