“Won’t do you any good to run, Bevvie,” her father

(my fadder)

told her, laughing. “We’ve waited a long time for this. This is going to be fun. This is going to be YUMMY in our TUMMIES.”

She looked back again and now her dead father was not wearing the witch’s black dress but the clown suit with the big orange buttons. There was a 1958-style coonskin cap, the kind popularized by Fess Parker in the Disney movie about Davy Crockett, perched on its head. In one hand it held a bunch of balloons. In the other it held the leg of a child like a chicken drumstick. Written on each balloon was the legend IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE.

“Tell your friends I am the last of a dying race,” it said, grinning its sunken grin as it staggered and lurched down the porch steps after her. “The only survivor of a dying planet. I have come to rob all the women ... rape all the men ... and learn to do the Peppermint Twist!”

It began to do a mad shuck-and-jive, balloons in one hand, severed, bleeding leg in the other.

I doubt it. There's plenty of stuff that will be left out for obvious reasons. The underage train on Bev. The one underage bully sucking off the other underage bully. Etc.

Vincent “Boogers” Taliendo had filled him in on the rest one day at school. What you did when you fucked, according to Boogers, was you rubbed your cock against a girl’s stomach until it got hard (your cock, not the girl’s stomach). Then you rubbed some more until you started to “get the feeling.” When Eddie asked what that meant, Boogers had only shaken his head in a mysterious way. Boogers said that you couldn’t describe it, but you’d know it as soon as you got it. He said you could practice by lying in the bathtub and rubbing your cock with Ivory soap (Eddie had tried this, but the only feeling he got was the need to urinate after awhile). Anyway, Boogers went on, after you “got the feeling,” this stuff came out of your penis. Most kids called it come, Boogers said, but his big brother had told him that the really scientific word for it was jizzum. And when you “got the feeling,” you had to grab your cock and aim it real fast so you could shoot the jizzum into the girl’s bellybutton as soon as it came out. It went down into her stomach and made a baby there.

Do girls like that? Eddie had asked Boogers Taliendo. He himself was sort of appalled.

I guess they must, Boogers had replied, looking mystified himself.

>Henry stared at Patrick’s hand as if hypnotized. His lighter lay on the rocky scree beside him, reflecting hot afternoon sun. “Want me to put it in my mouth?” Patrick asked. His big, livery lips smiled complacently. “Huh?” Henry asked, as if startled from some deep dream. “I’ll put it in my mouth if you want. I don’t m—” Henry’s hand flashed out, half-curled, not quite a fist. Patrick was knocked sprawling
What the fuck is this. Kubrick would have been perfect for this fucking shit

"“How bout a blowjob, Eddie?” the apparition croaked, grinning with its remains of a mouth. It lilted, “Bobby does it for a dime, he will do it anytime, fifteen cents for overtime.” It winked. “That’s me, Eddie—Bob Gray. And now that we’ve been properly introduced ...” One of its hands splatted against Eddie’s right shoulder. Eddie screamed thinly."

>>
>>85588932

Develop your hypothesis
>>
>>85588850
I do,” Patrick said. “I’ll tell you when. Get ready! . . . Get ready, it’s coming! Get . . . now!”

Henry flicked the lighter. At the same moment there was the unmistakable ripping sound of a really good fart. There was no mistaking that sound; Beverly had heard it enough in her own house, usually on Saturday night, after the beans and franks. A regular bear for his beans was her father. As Patrick blew off and Henry flicked the lighter, she saw something that made her jaw drop. A bright blue jet of flame appeared to roar directly out of Patrick’s bum. To Bev it looked like the pilot-light on a gas-burner.

“Holy shit, that hurts!” Victor roared.

“Twelve feet!” Henry bellowed. “I swear to God, Vic, twelve fuckin feet! I swear it on my mother’s name!”

“I don’t care if it was twenty fuckin feet, you burned my ass off!”
>>
>>85588932
You know what, you're right.

It does make sense.

Stephen King, world-renowned author, wanted to write a scene so disturbing, so vile, just to see if he could get away with it. And he did, on both fronts.

A little girl gets fucked in a filthy sewer by a group of her male friends....so they can find their way back home. So they won't get lost.

MAKES
PERFECT
FUCKING
SENSE
>>
>expecting any of the turtle god
>any sex
>anything involving graphic self masturbation
>in a cash grab movie meant to get a hold of the idiots who can't wait for the mindless halloween scaryyyyy movies

Stephen King's novels are fucking batshit retarded but expecting most of the stuff he writes to end up in his adaptations is even dumber.
>>
>>85588879
it doesn't make sense in isolation but with context it's meant to illustrate a loss of innocence and the transition to adulthood. still, it's a bit ridiculous. i forget if king was still doing cocaine at the time.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm gonna be pushing the child orgy pages pretty hard on social media.
>>
>>85589247
No. Mike will see the Black Spot and the budget can't afford a giant bird. If you wanna talk dumb the kids seeing movie monsters was fucking dumb and it's smarter having them see tragedies connected to Derry's history.
>>
>>85589304
you're not wrong, guy is fucked up and was probably on coke at the time. Still, I'd prefer if it was in the movie anyway. And taking out maturin and the spider form is fucking stupid
>>
Steven King should be put down both for his affronts to literature and to our sensibilities as human beings.
>>
>>85589304
The weirdest part isn't the sex scene itself, but how he describes how every cock feels inside of Bevy from her own perspective.
Like
>He finished fast
>His cock was so big it kinda hurt

I guess it is one of the many parts he didn't remember writing because he was high/drunk.
>>
>>85589349
>You mean the adaptation that basically followed the fucking book, right?

the 90s movie did not follow the book at all other than having a spider at the end
>>
>>85589247
>>85589315
i think one of the trailers showed a reference to the black spot fire. but i doubt the giant crow will be in it. would take too long to explain.
>>
>>85589371
The kids see a turtle in the movie. The turtle is references throughout the movie. You'll have to wait until the sequel to see cosmic shit. There wasn't even enough budget to film the smoke hole.
>>
>>85589458
Both of them did, they had hands behind a burning door trying to get out, very clearly the Black Spot. Which I think it's a smart move replacing Mike's nightmare vision with the Black Spot instead of the Giant Claw.
>>
>>85589413
Honestly instead of two movies they should have make a mini series like the did with 11.22.63 with 8 episodes and a halfway decent budget.
Granted there is nearly nothing supernatural which needs special effects in the story and it feature only a few main characters so the costs are much lower.
>>
>>85589506
yeah, there's plenty to be streamlined from the novel.

>Eddie comes to her first, because he is the most frightened. He comes to her not as her friend of that summer, or as her brief lover now, but the way he would have come to his mother only three or four years ago, to be comforted; he doesn’t draw back from her smooth nakedness and at first she doubts if he even feels it. He is trembling, and although she holds him in the darkness is so perfect that even this close she cannot see him; except for the rough cast he might as well be a phantom.

>“What do you want?” he asks her.

>“You have to put your thing in me,” she says.

>He tries to pull back but she holds him [using force] and he subsides against her. She has heard someone — Ben, she thinks — draw in his breath.

>“Bevvie, I can’t do that. I don’t know how –“

>“I think it’s easy. But you’ll have to get undressed.” She thinks about the intricacies of managing cast and shirt, first somehow separating and then rejoining them, and amends, “Your pants, anyway.”

>“No, I can’t!” [“No” means “no”.] But she thinks part of him can, and wants to, because his trembling has stopped and she feels something small and hard which presses against the right side of her belly. [Classic rationalizations, according to the standard dogma: rapists justify themselves this way when victims are betrayed by their bodies. Eddie’s body is saying yes, but his mind is saying no.]

>“You can,” she says, and pulls him down. The surface beneath her bare back and legs is firm, clayey, dry. The distant thunder of the water is drowsy, soothing. She reaches for him. There is a moment when her father intervenes, harsh and forbidding, and then she closes her arms around Eddie’s neck, her smooth cheek against his smooth cheek, and as he tentatively touches her small breasts she sighs and thinks for the first time, This is Eddie, and she remembers a day in July — could it only have been last month? — when no one else turned up in the Barrens but Eddie, and he had a whole bunch of little Lulu comic books and they read together for most of the afternoon, Little Lulu looking for beebleberries and getting in all sorts of crazy situations. It had been fun.

>She thinks of birds; in particular of the grackles and starlings and crows that come back in the spring, and her hands go to his belt and loosen it, and he says again that he can’t do that; she tells him that he can [again overriding his protests], she knows he can, and what she feels is not shame or fear now but a kind of triumph.

>“Where?” he says, and that hard thing pushes urgently against her inner thigh.

>“Here,” she says.

>“Beverly?” he says uncertainly. “Are you okay?”

>“Go slower,” she says. “It’ll be easier for you to breathe.” He does move more slowly, and after a while his breathing speeds up but she understands this i not because there is anything wrong with him.

>The pain fades. Suddenly he moves more quickly, then stops, stiffens, and makes a sound — some sound. She senses that this is something for him, something extraordinarily, special, something like… like flying. She feels powerful: she feels a sense of triumph rise up strongly within her. Is this what her father was afraid of? Well he might be! There was power in this act, all right, a chain-breaking power that was blood-deep. She feels no physical pleasure, but there is a kind of mental ecstasy in it for her. She senses the closeness. He puts his face against her neck and she holds him. He is crying. She holds him. And feels the part of him that made a connection between them begin to fade. It is not leaving her exactly; it is simply fading, becoming less.

>He shakes his head — she feels it with her hand against his cheek.

>“I don’t think it was exactly like… you know, like the big boys say. But it was… it was really something.” He speaks low, so the others can’t hear. “I love you, Bevvie.”

>Her consciousness breaks down a little there. She’s quite sure there’s more talk some whispered, some loud, and can’t remember what is said. It doesn’t matter. Does she have to talk each of them into it all over again? Yes, probably. But it doesn’t matter. They have to be talked into it, this essential human link between the world and the infinite, the only place where the bloodstream touches eternity. It doesn’t matter. What matters is love and desire. Here in this dark is as good a place as any. Better than some, maybe.

Due to the nature of the multiverse loop, and what King's implied, the sequel overrides the original just like a retcon because it's supposed to be the actual end.

I actually like the slight vagueness of how much the town isnt just It's dinner plate, its almost like and appendage.

>>
>>85592266
I guess, but Im talking more about the people of Derry specifically. I even argued about this the other day in one of these threads, whether It has actual control or just influence. And i will admit King threw any kind of subtlety out the window in the last 200 pages or so.
>>
>>85592358
>implying
>>
>>85592467
It's definitely just a strong influence. At the end of the day IT was still a physical being and couldn't infest or take over people. But it's super strong psychic powers definitely affected people in the way it wanted.
>>
>>85592467

It can control the citizens at will. There are multiple instances in the book when people turn away/go inside while the losers were in trouble. IT also controls Bev's dad into chasing her while screaming the pedo language at her. IT also controls Tom once he gets into Derry.
>>
>>85592640
All IT did was influence them, it brought out the latent feelings and personalities inside of them.
>>
'What have you let them do to you?"

"Do? What-" She had no idea what he meant.

"Take your pants off."

Her confusion increased. Nothing he said seemed connected to anything else. Trying to follow him made her feel... seasick, almost.

"What... why...?"

His hand rose; she flinched back. "Take them off, Bevvie. I want to see if you are intact."

Now there was a new image, crazier than the rest: she saw herself pulling her jeans off, and one of her legs coming off with them. Her father belting her around the room as she tried to hop away from him on her one good leg, Daddy shouting: I knew you wasn't intact! I knew it! I knew it!

"Daddy, I don't know what-"

His hand came down, not slapping this time but clutching. It bit into her shoulder with furious strength. She screamed. He pulled her up, and for the first time looked directly into her eyes. She screamed again at what she saw there. It was... nothing. Her father was gone. And Beverly suddenly understood that she was alone in the apartment with It, alone with It on this dozey August morning. There was not the thick sense of power and untinctured evil she had felt in the house on Neibolt Street a week and a half ago-It had been diluted somehow by her father's essential humanity-but It was here, working through him.

He threw her aside. She struck the coffee table, tripped over it, and went sprawling on the floor with a cry. This is how it happens, she thought. I'll tell Bill so he understands. It's everywhere in Derry. It just... It just fills the hollow places, that's all.

She rolled over. Her father was walking toward her. She skidded away from him on the seat of her jeans, her hair in her eyes.

"I know you been down there," he said. "I was told. I didn't believe it. I didn't believe my Bevvie would be hanging around with a gang of boys. Then I seen you myself this morning. My Bevvie with a bunch of boys. Not even twelve and hanging around with a bunch of boys!"
>>
>>85592664

Under your definition IT may have only influenced Bev's dad and Tom. But the random citizens who were controlled into ignoring the Losers while their lives were threatened had no latent feelings against the Losers. So it could influence as necessary or control as necessary.
>>

"Negroes have no taste," Richie said. "I think it even says so in the Bible."

"Yo mamma," Mike said, laughing harder than ever. When Richie asked, with honest bewilderment, what that meant, Mike sat down with a thump and rocked back and forth, howling and holding his stomach.

"You probably think I'm jealous," Richie said. "You probably think I want to be a Negro."

Now Ben also fell down, laughing wildly. His whole body rippled and quaked alarmingly. His eyes bulged. "No more, Richie," he managed. "I'm gonna shit my pants. I'm gonna d-d-die if you don't stub-stop-"

"I don't want to be a Negro," Richie said. "Who wants to wear pink pants and live in Boston and buy pizza by the slice? I want to be Jewish like Stan. I want to own a pawnshop and sell people switchblades and plastic dog-puke and used guitars."

King likes the whole 'powerful psychic/magic corrupts a community' thing. He did it in iirc 'Wizard and Glass' in the Dark Tower series more overtly in a quick montage about the growing perversions of the town Susan was in.

I also like the parts where King writes narration from "It's" point of view.

IT is so far above humans it doesn't consider itself evil for eating them. It's like finding a fly in your hot tub: you might let it drown, you might scoop it out. Either way, you don't give it more than a thought for a second or two.

It seemed fine to me, although certainly surprising. It makes sense, though. Bev is abused by her father, so she wants to have a sexual experience with the only people in the world who she knows actually care about her. And for both her and the boys, it's a way of becoming adults on their own terms, rather than on the terms of the townspeople who have become corrupted by It.

This new Pennywise has to be the scariest movie monster we've seen in years. Literally years. There's two scenes in this movie that absolutely sent shivers down my spine. First when Pennywise possesses the slideshow and we finally get to see his very creepy and mental face in the final scene. What a build-up! I nearly pissed myself.

The other one is in the basement, first we see the excellent performance by Georgie's actor. You'll float too never has sounded more epically scary. And then Pennywise rises from the waters. I jumped in my chair and still do when watching this. I can tell I will be on the edge of my seat in theatres this september.

But once a small group of local kids start realizing something weird is going on Pennywise goes full Lovecraft Eldritch Abomination and tries to mindfuck them all into oblivion or manipulate weak willed humans into killing them.
>>
>>85598569
The Creeper is one of the few horror monsters to infest my dreams. Pennywise is another. The one from the novel that is. I remember reading the part where Pennywise is hovering out the window shooting a tommygun or whatever. That night I dreamed him hovering out my bedroom window that same way and shooting at me, kek. Sounds cartoonish but in the dream it was terrifying.
>>
>>85598569
I rooted for the Creeper up until Ray Wise showed back up.
>>
>>85593453
Uh, yes, they are. All living things are sentient. The difference between a fly and a human is that the human is sapient.

It made sense to me, hombre

I like Stephen King's non fiction, actually everything I've read. I'm not too keen on his fiction, other than his most popular works.
>>
I like the trailer and I think the movie looks good. It's just the damn clown, he looks so stupid and sounds shit.
>>
>>85598819
I think the people who bitch about the scene misunderstand it on purpose.
>>
>>85598899
Yeah, I will never understand why grown adults find it so creepy or gross or bad that a bunch of people who are all the same age have consensual sex with each other.

The fact that there's a fucking pedophile who is literally chasing a screaming child through the streets is completely ignored by all of the other people is what really freaked me out.

That should be what gets people riled up.
>>
>>85598618
Clownhouse is one of the most disturbing films to watch, and not for the intended reasons.

All of the shots are gratuitous and treat the main boy like he was Megan Fox in the Transformers.

Just reading The Stand at the moment and I have noticed that King frequently uses the word Nigger. I'm currently on chapter 35 and every time King mentions black people he uses the word, with the exception of the scene where black soldiers clad in loincloths execute white soldiers live on tv (chapter 27, I think).

I understand that King has racist characters in his books, and that he uses nigger when he is writing from their perspectives, but I find him using it in his "narrator's voice" in The Stand. He throws the word in every time he refers to black background characters and it's becoming jarring.

Quentin Tarentino was called out by Spike Lee on his license to use the word. Has anyone ever done this to King? If so, how did he respond?

The other time I felt uncomfortable reading his work was his portrayal of Susannah/Odetta Holmes in The Dark Tower series. Do any other fans feel that King walks a fine line with race ? (Just so people know where I am coming from, I am a white middle-class male)

TLDR - I think King uses nigger excessively and has some dubious portrayals of black people in his books - does this make him a closeted racist?
>>
>>85585601
I don't remember this part. Maybe it was lost in translation.
>>
>>85599316
My god, this entire post reeks of social justice white guilt.
>>
>>85599316
I don't remember King using the word "nigger" in the narrative voice...
>>
>>85599316
Grow some balls man, either that or find a safe place and stay there. Nigger is a word like cunt is a word or like how vaginal paste is a hell of a taste, just rolls off the tongue.
>>
>>85599965
Cunt is a beautiful word.
>>
>>85588652
So was Henry's dick small and hairless or big? Bev describes it as both small and big.

>When the Losers' travel into the sewer with the intent of destroying It, they momentarily find themselves hopelessly trapped. As the boys start to panic, Beverly comes up with the idea of having sex with the others in order to calm them down, as a result the other Losers take turns having sex with her. Because King didn't wish this to be viewed as a lewd scene, the narrative explicitly states that the act of intimacy with each of the boys' helps to further strengthen their friendship; and Beverly only experiences orgasm while having intercourse with Bill Denbrough and Ben Hanscom.
>>
>>85589120
They were all covered in shit, imagine the diseases they got from the sewer orgy.
>>
>>85600005
Cunt is a beautiful word. An even finer word is the plural of cunt, cunnies---ironically it's too close to cunny which implies something else entirely, a condemnable desire, an unspeakable attraction.

>The scene makes sense on first reading.

Yeah, it's cheesy, female-empowerment, MUH VAGINA IS MAGIC bullshit (and yes, that crap existed in the 80s, too)...but like >>85600065 mentioned, they're covered in other people's shit when it happens (and I genuinely believe King forgot that plot element), so it's laughably bad metaphor.
>>
>>85600088
I think Henry was hard when Patrick was rubbing his balls. That scene was fucked up,as the follow-up with Patrick's animal fridge.

I think, if memory serves this old fart, the laid on a chalky substance. Dried, clay poop.

What's funny is that this occurred to Frank Darabont when he adapted Shawshank Redemption, with Tim Robbins being "cleansed" by the rain, and it turns into the film's most powerful moment...

I have heard plenty of arguments that King uses racist characters in order to make them more hateful to his readers. But he has done this in every single novel that he has written, and I've now come to believe that he just gets a kick-out-of-it.
Even in novels where there are no blacks involved, there will still be one or more characters using racial epithets towards black people.
He uses the N-Word (and other colorful hate-speech) like it's some sort of Aphrodisiac.

Spent you lay your large head on her soft tummy. Not with your full weight of course, that'd be too much for her to handle, so you rest your head on her all the while ensuring not to put more than a few pounds, your neck carries the rest. Your eyes becomes clearer and your mind opens and you suffer a sudden self consciousness. "What have I done?" You know what you did of course and she does too, little Bev puts her hand on your head. "Please forgive me, My Bev, my sweet Bev." You're weeping and Bev tries to not only console you but to remind you that its not altogether your fault, "It's okay.". She says. Her joining with her friends in the sewer had prepared her for this, even though she never thought this was actually a possibility. She cried a little when you began but even under It's influence you tried to go gently with her. It was satisfied with the act itself so you managed to control the tempo. " Forgive me, Bev, please forgive me.". She actually shh you as a loving parent would a baby. The very act overwhelms you and suddenly you want to love her dearly and to some day have children with her. But she was far too young and you're old. And then there's the taboo of it all, and then there's innocence lost. "What have I done, what have I done?". You raise your head and look at Bev, sobbing and she hugs you and kisses you on the neck. She pulls you to her belly but his time a little lower. Beverly knows neither of you can continue like this, and the only way forward was to eliminate the past and ignore the future. On the nightstand near Beverly's bed sat a small ceramic turtle, but Beverly never saw or owned such a thing and it wasn't there a few minutes ago. Beverley pushes your head even lower to her mound, it glistens because of your seed and her sweat. Its so beautiful and you lap at it, Bev sees It's wilting tendrils it controls reality and people's minds with, and she sees them and a connection is made. "Bev," says forget and you pass out

I actually read the Dutch translation, both are hilarious. Bevvy's dad is nuts. The entire book is pretty crazy. It can not really be adapted into a movie or two movies. It requires probably a mini series of about 10 episodes an hour each, perhaps even longer.
