It's awful, 2 is unironically better.
Almost nothing works. Kingsley was good as bin laden esque boogeyman, then he was a joke, and still really funny but the other antagonist, his minions, mopey tony out of suit on his saccharine quest w/ the plucky orphan the stupid conceit of having to destroy his arsenal.

I honestly hated every single Iron Man movie. I'm not opposed to all capeshit, but I got sick of the Tony Stark character after about 10 minutes. I still feel obligated to watch them for some reason.

I was pretty confused throughout. The shifts in tone were jarring, and I found Robert Downey Jr's performance to be not always convincing. Like his "panic attacks". I blame that on his character being a breezy quip machine the rest of the time.
