That scene where Lynch is getting sucked up into the sky to the hobo dimension looked a lot like the scene in the second episode when Laura gets sucked out of the black lodge.

Plus there's the floral wallpaper behind the hobos on the stairs, which connects it to the painting Laura gets in FWWM. When she's dreaming and walking through the rooms there's a wall that's just red curtains, maybe that's suggesting the hobos live "behind the scenes" of reality which seems to be the impression this season is giving us... Diane was corrupted when DoppelCoop came to her apartment that time, and he cut off their relationship. Diane had no reason to suspect it was a different person, so her personality went from being like the original Coop to a bitter bitch who has a bunch of boy toys because deep down she's looking for another Dale Cooper. I don't think she's always been helping DoppelCoop, maybe he just said he'd be in contact with her again one day. It's only recently that she's realized it isn't the real Cooper, and she's still helping Cole and the investigation (since she told them about seeing the hobos as well) but is still acting as a double agent for DoppelCoop. I think that's just out of fear though, kinda like the dude in Las Vegas, especially now that she doesn't know who the fuck it actually is.
