I liked it the first time around and began to love it the next few times I saw it. Upbeat, then tragic.
Vivre sa Vie is a bit dry but fantastic too. I saw it for the first time projected onto a full screen; made it much more impactful imo. It doesn't carry well to smaller screens. The larger faces convey larger emotions, which is necessary for a movie with such profound emotional depth.
