Don having a brief moment of clarity that he really shouldn't treat his family as an afterthought to his pursuit of selfish desires. But because he is a selfish twat all he can do with this moment is whore it out as an ad campaign rather that legit change.

The entire speech was about nostalgia, while he played photos of (seemingly) happy times in his past.
He had rose tinted glasses for the past, he saw Betty and his children being happy, when in reality they probably weren't, they were the same.
People are incapable of truly changing, Don might make some revelation, but in the end he'll use it to sell something.
