It's Le Carre jamesbonded. Also remember that most of his novels are rather poor. There's not much worth reading except In From the Cold, Smiley Trilogy, and The Constant Gardener.

Yes, standards are low, but for some reason you can still convince people you're a talented actor/actress just by being ugly. I mean, Coleman is an entirely average talent. She's been successful only because people in real life don't watch the emotions play across an uggo's face for long, so when people like Coleman or Timothy Spall remind them that uggos have feelings, they feel blown away/chastened by the thought. It's silly really.

Tom Hollander was great as Corky tho.
