I hope nerd culture does off soon, it's the most obnoxious thing.
>>
>>85519271
In other words, Actually normal people that simply want to see films are faced with an audience consisting of a hipster, superficial, selfish, narcissistic bunch of fucking assholes who refuse to see things from a different perspective, who are now the majority. As long as the loudest baby crying gets his/her way by a leader that lusts for fame, fortune and power, then, the baby gets its toy. That is now the world we see: a forgotten history, a forgotten perspective and forgotten original agenda. Congrats! Yay! More capeshit!! What's important again? I wonder if it was worth it if the race to fame was worth all of this. "Freedom".... Yeah right. lol. The slavery has just begun. But that's what happens when you've bombarded in society by a television and computer that subliminally feeds you with how you should think, act, dress and most of all, believe. Very hard to break out of the land of make believe.
>>
Ready Player One is an absolutely shit book. I don't know how they would get a decent script from it without ignoring most of the book.
>>
>>85519353
Zach Snyder ignored the fundamental concepts of the characters in his capeshit movies and people seem to like that so that's probably what they'll do
>>
>>85519379
Transformers still make bilions and they are just 2h masturbation over CGI destruction and explosions with smeard on remains of the plot.

That is nots funny. All he does is makes the references. "Remember this? Remember that?" That guy is dildos.
>>
>>85519353
they aren't
they've cast essentially every major character in the book
they're doing the whole thing
>>
I feel like retards are hyping themselves for 2 hours of product placement.

Ready Player One was an awful book written by a shameless self-promoter but AT LEAST he got to slip in references to things he genuinely cared about. This feels like a movie slapped together by WB's marketing department to keep their IP relevant to a new generation of hyperconsumers.

So... like the book then?
>>
>>85519353

The main protagonist was propably the most obnoxious one since forever. Couldn't stand him.
>>
are they really eastereggs when it's the entire premise of the story?
>>
>>85519647

I've done a lot of the stuff that's mentioned in that screenshot. Is this book meant to highlight how pathetic the reader is?
>>
>>85519687
to the normies, Sheldon's Flash symbol shirt is an Easter egg.
>>
>>85519791
>packing your book full of references to meaningless popculture things in hopes the reader have an epiphany and start to manage his time better

No, you're giving too much credit to an author. He's just a hyper nerdgeek that wanted to show off everything he liked when he was growing up.
>>
>>85519812

imagine having such a full and busy personal life that a Flash symbol on a t-shirt gives you momentary nostalgic pleasure.

Yuck.

Guy mentions Kevin Smith but doesn't bring up John Carpenter. What a poser. Kill him.

>>
>>85519991

No - I think you're the lucky one if having a life comes with the cost of unironically enjoying The Big Bang Theory.
>>
>>85519271
A movie made entirely out of references. Is this the logical end of nerd culture?
>>
>>85519946
>imagine having such a full and busy personal life

You can be a workaholic.
Same as beeing NEET, but instead of eating ramen, playing videogames and drinking moutain dew, you eat order food in restaurants, constantly work and dring high end whiskey. Same feeling of lonliness, but more money to kill it with alcohol.
>>
>>85520044
Nah, that's just a phase.
First, you kill off anything original by replacing slowly parts of the movie with references. Once you achieve it, you simply make movies that become refernces to oher movies that ar already references of references until you can put movie into theatres that is basically grey screen for the 2 and a half hours.

Doubt it, listen to any group of teens or twentysomethings at Marvel movie; they will have read up on what events and arcs are being referenced in the movie (they won't have read those arcs keep in mind) so they can prove their nerd cred. Even when it's not necessary, it's done. RPO will just be a competition to spot that shit
>>

When it came to shitposting, I never took any shortcuts. I worked my way down the entire recommended memes list. Pepe, Wojak, Doge, Boxxy, Girugamesh, Puddi, not Milhouse, Cockmongler, ISHYGDDT. I read every meme by every single one of 4chans favorite memester.
And I didn't stop there.
I also watched every single film they reference on /tv/. If it was one of /tv/s favorites, like Batman v Superman, Guardians of the Galaxy, the Pest, or The Dark Knight Rises, I rewatched it until I knew the plane scene by heart.
I devoured each of what Halliday refered to as "The Holy Trilogies": Star Wars (Only the prequels), The Hobbit, the Dark Knight.
I also absorbed the complete filmographies of each of their favorite directors. Snyder, Nolan, Bay, Wes Anderson and, of course, Wiseau.
I spent three months studying every Nolant Batman movie and memorizing all the key lines of dialogue.
"Your're a big guy. For you."
You could say I covered all the bases.
I studied Million Dollar Extreme. And not just world peace, every one of their sketches, youtube videos and Facebook posts, and every episode of the Adult Swim series (Including those two "lost" episodes they did for German gas chambers)
I wasn't going to cut any corners.
I wasn't going to miss something obvious.
Somewhere along the way, I starte to go overboard.
I may, in fact, have started to go a little insane.
I watched every episode of Game of Thrones, Fargo, Twin Peaks: The Return, On Cinema At The Cinema and Breaking Bad.
What about Zombie Simpsons you ask?
I knew more about Chuck"s Sneed and Feed than I knew about my own city.
Capeshit? Oh, I did my homework. GotG, BvS, MoS. Even Avengers and Kick Ass. I watched them all in chronological order. The comics, too. "Has anyone got orange slices?"
I gave myself a crash course in early 00s meme.
I learned the title of every last goddamn YouTube Poop and Newgrounds flash.
Salad Fingers, Homestar Runner, Baman and Piderman, Ultimate Showdown - I knew them all.

East Europe also, but for another reason.
I remember in '90 and first half of 2000, TV station would run pretty much everything from '80 Amercian television, becuse licensing fees were too high for anythng more modern.

Sweet trailer, bro. Looks fun! Is that the bat car riding around? The only thing I don't understand is why, after all those cool action scenes, they end it with a boring key. What's up with that anyway? Am I supposed to know the heck that is? Is it from a book or something? Kinda gay, to be honest. Anyway, it's been fun talking, anon.

C'mon Stacy, let's hit up that pool party at Becky's.
