It seems like people are somewhat starved for a good horror movie. Good one's are so few and far between nowadays. That people latch on to anything that's slightly above sub par. The void was an ok movie for what it was. Which was a B budget horror movie. It's far from the best damn thing but it's good compared to all the rest of the scifi channel tier horror garbage.
