I watched the latest episode of Norm MacDonald Live on Amazon Prime, and there were no commercials on that platform, as opposed to YouTube. So does Norm make money from having it on Amazon? Does he get paid every time somebody watches an episode on Amazon, or does Amazon just pay him a sum for allowing them to host his show?
>>
how the fuck would i know
>>
>>85496341
As far as I know Norm is given a stipend and additional funds must be laundered via Adam underneath the Queensborough bridge in multiples of $15
>>
APRIL FOOLS! Former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt is alive and well!!
>>
>>85496341
I liked this episode. It's an interesting dynamic with each sort of in awe of the other. Not as funny as other ones but entertaining. And Letterman's reaction to "where do you get your ideas from?" was maybe the best so far
>>
The top 10 list was the best part.
>>
>>85496412
haha
>>
>>85497218
>"where do you get your ideas from?"
This was the first episode of the show I watched. Does that guy ask that question to everyone?
>>
>>85497618
Yeah it's one of the running gags.

Enjoy the rest of the episodes!
>>
>>85496341
Anyone can submit anything to be put on Prime. If it's approved, most are, you get paid per view.
>>
>>85497618

Why didn't they do an opening with just Norm and Adam? Those are always hilarious.

When Adam thinks he's become some big shot actor for doing cuck porn, and when norm "pranks" adam by funneling that vodka down his throat as he slept were 10/10.
>>
>>85498250
The gags were good but I can't complain about more time spent with a great guest. For your mental health I suggest taking all podcasts "as is"
>>
>>85498519
he's spent more than in hour with a few guests. gilbert and todd glass come to mind. They easily could have had the opening, and just extend the guest part. hell even if they didn't extend the guest part they could have had an opening, and still had the hour with letterman.
>>
>>85497062
My favorite AF ever 2bh
>>
Like the podcasts with great guests, but always love the episodes with B level comedians where Norm takes the piss out of them
>>
Super Dave episode is so fucking good, he needs to have him every season.
>>
>>85496341
It's on Youtube as well
>>
>>85496341
Dave looks great, retirement is doing him well
>>
>>85498250
What episode is the cuck one?
>>
I'm guessing he filmed it all and was shopping it around to various people like Amazon and Netflix. Which is why it took so long for it to come out, they filmed these like 10 months ago. Amazon probably paid him a lump sum for his catalog. But then again it is on Youtube as well so I don't see how that would benefit Amazon. Who knows.

Bob Saget.
>>
>>85499469
are these meta jokes I wonder? is Bob Saget a cuck??

Jews are notoriously nepotistic and have considerable tribal bias/in-group occupational preferences.

According to Adam Eget.
>>
>>85497999
Why would that be bad? Is it strange to ask comedians who write jokes where they get their ideas from?

It's a fucking cliche question because it's only asked by hack interviewers who don't know what the fuck they're doing.

Maybe not the airline joke part, but i can't recall

>>

I actually like the commercials in Norm Macdonald Live because it's Norm doing them, and in this episode they were more interesting than the interview.
>>
>>85502577
I thought I'd a kill a summer month with some free High Castle but then... Hand of God, and Bosch???... /tv/ is light on the shitposting when it comes to their comfy programming.
>>
>>85499566
Norm hates meta-comedy... I would love for him to invite Tim Heidecker or Bo Burnham so he could push their shit without them even realizing it.
>>85499719
Saget got on Full House because somebody thought it would be funny to give him the job after hearing his comedy which is all jokes about murdering and raping children and shit.
>>
>>85502956
his commerical with andy dick and that fucking grill thing was hilarious. Andy dick was another guy I thought would be just horrible, but ended up being one of the best episodes.
>>
>>85503002
I hate Bo Burnham so much. I'd love to see Norm roast him.
>>
>>85503002
>Saget got on Full House because somebody thought it would be funny to give him the job after hearing his comedy which is all jokes about murdering and raping children and shit.

I don't disagree with you, but seriously how many people do you think would actually get the joke that he's playing a character totally antithetical to his on stage persona? On top of that, even the people that got the "joke", I would bet well over 95% of his fans didn't watch the show because his show character was so different and the show was awful.
>>
>>85502959
The first season of Red Oaks is super comfy. I haven't got around to watching the second season yet.

maybe it all depends on norms mood at the time

The grill commercials were hilarious, as were the shaving club ones, but then the grill ones withdrew their money because they felt he was mocking them instead of advertising them (what did they expect, it's Norm) and I think since then he hasn't been as daring.

The Letterman episode was really poor. It contained nothing you wouldn't already know if you'd seen Letterman interviewed before, and Norm offered very little insight, probably conscious of the fact that Letterman is easy to upset.

I think it was more just Norm having his idol on, it wasn't just that Norm was being clean, he barely spoke.

Look at how little he involved Adam, he normally uses him as the butt of his most offensive jokes but he spoke maybe twice. It seemed more like Norm just wanted to let Letterman shine.

>The one question I had [for Jenner] is, what’s a woman? She couldn’t answer it. That’s what I find most confusing about it. It’s a woman trapped inside a man’s body. Then, what’s a woman? And he had no answer. Or she, rather. You get in trouble for pronouns. She had no answer for what a woman was because women like to pretend that women and men are the exact same. But then if they are, they can’t say they are women trapped inside man’s bodies. But he’s very, or she I should say—it’s a she if you look her in the face and it’s a he when you’re shaking her giant hand. There’s nothing you can do with your hands, I realized talking to her. They haven’t come up with that yet. But she was very charming, and she’s going to golf with me. She’s a scratch golfer, for God’s sakes. She hits the par fives in two. And I said, “You go on the ladies tees now?” And she said, “Oh yeah.” And I thought that’s a bit unfair.

thats the bit.

>to avoid any pitfalls
Not really his style. And even if he goes in with that agenda, the dude has a 30 year history of being a contrarian for comedic purposes, he'll fuck up and ask something that everyone wonders and nobody has the guts to publicly ask, and Jenner will give an honest (to him/her) reply which with his/her conservative leanings will be deemed "problematic". Its my prediction, i might be wrong.

I don't know at this point, Norm makes it sound pleasant enough but there's a chance it went down way less smoothly than that. I just hope they don't walk on eggshells in any way, we don't need a 'very special episode' for this.

It should be interesting no doubt. In both cases the worst outcome is just a dull interview, so I hope you're right and Norm breaks the ice nice and early.

And she didnt fly into the Bermuda Triangle which was the premise of the joke, you fucking retard. I remember the cliff notes of the joke, lettermans reaction to it and Norm responding with "it was 150 years ago". It was an added punchline to the already faulty premise of the joke, which then became the joke. Go back to /r/LouisCK.

>>85528707
It was obviously some sort of slavery/civil war joke, which was 150 years ago. They cut it because Letterman.

This is the answer to any question regarding behind the scenes of Norm Live or Norm's thoughts and feelings.

Why did they cut the top ten at the end?

Dave tells you why before it ends.

That was some classic post-sasso comedy

The issue with the Letterman episode is that Norm respected him to much, there was a similar problem with the Jack Carter episode but Carter was bonkers enough to make it work. Letterman was very very dry.

The others on the list look great though. I have faith even though Norm's most recent special was just terrible.

Artie is really funny when he's not on coke stabbing himself in the belly, unfortunately the majority of his time is spent on coke stabbing himself in the belly.

which bit does the post-sasso stuff come from?
>>
>>85528746
No, i saw the show 10 minutes after it was dropped. I'll paraphrase (badly)
>Scientist have finally discovered why Emilia Earhart vanished into the bermuda triangle...
>She was a bad pilot.
Letterman
>She was never near the bermuda triangle
Norm
>It was a 150 years ago, we can make fun of it now.

Thats basically it. I know i said i'd paraphrase badly, but i think thats nearly verbatim.

Do you understand the concept of editing?
>>
>>85529603
the jew from bazinga says he appeared on madtv but this was after sasso had left and norm turns to adam egret and says "post sasso"
>>
>>85503292
Second season is also great. I'm glad to see someone who watches Red Oaks on /tv/
>>
>>85529686
I'm explaining to you what the actual joke was that seemingly was edited out, so yes. I get the gist of editing. Anything else?
>>
>>85529644
Yeah I saw that too

The Earhart stuff wasn't edited out you mongoloid.

You mean the guy whose face looks like a cunt?
>>
>>85523186
Norm always treated him as sort of a stooge. It's kind of like how a group of hot girls always has a fat or less attractive friend and secretly love it because they know she makes them look better.
