Yeah it has Kubrick's sense of humor written all over it. Pretty underrated compared to 2001, Clockwork Orange, and The Shining.

Shot them with a special lens that Nasa had designed to film in space or some shit. Kubrick had to help them fake the moon landing in return, though.

One of the documentaries about Kubrick actually talks about how he almost looted old cameras and lenses, grabbing some stuff from studios that wasn't being used anymore. People thought he was crazy because those old cameras had a shit aperture or something and made pictures look "flat". But they didn't know Kubrick was actually aiming for his film to look like period paintins, and flat was perfect for it.

I like how he became the villain in the 2nd half
perhaps a bit too long, the visuals are absolutely incredible though

In my top three movies and my favorite Kubrick piece.
