would you watch LOTR CU standalone movies like THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM set between THE HOBBIT and TLOTR, or WOODLAND REALM PATROL: A LEGOLAS STORY set before THE HOBBIT?

kek, no

No. I never even bothered watching The Hobbit parts 2-3. LotR was made at exactly the right time. It's impossible to do the movies properly now. Hollywood can't tolerate a film rooted in practical effects that is tailored to the story instead of stretched out to maximize aggregate box office.

only if there was NO shriveledlittleshortdick legolas in any of them
The LOTR trilogy was great, but the Hobbit trilogy was awful. Anymore LOTR films and they'll wreck the whole franchise.

Before The Hobbit came out I would've been down for that, but after seeing that heaping pile of shit I'd rather they'd just stop making Tolkien adaptations.
Let LotR be remembered for how great it was.

Strange that the fan edits of The Hobbit that cut out the superfluous crap are more in line with the magic of the LotR trilogy than what the original director created.

No. No movie or series based on the books should ever be made again. I can't understand how a supposed fan of Tolkien's work would want to see it further bastardised of the works. Your suggestions are awful too lad.

What are the good ones? Was looking for some yesterday

The Maple Films one impressed me. Three movies on two 'discs' and they put all of the cut stuff on an 'Appendix' disk just like the original LotR DVDs so if you want to watch it you can.

Shut the fuck up and make Temeraire you fucking hack.
I want Sean Bean riding a dragon goddamnit.
If this fuckface is involved in any way, no.
I'd like to see del Toro's version.

purist edition

I should give that a try but even then I doubt it would retain the magic of the LotR trilogy. It would still be filled with CGI instead of great practical effects and make-up.
Also, do they cut out everything that isn't in the book? As in, no Azog storyline, no Necromancer stuff, no Legolas and Tauriel, no scenes with that terrible comic relief guy who worked for the Master of Laketown?

Is there more alfrid than necessary? this is a dealbreaker
