>Cute girls from Twilight + fun dialogue + action scenes
Max Landis is a good writer and I'm sorry these films didn't make any money :(
Max Landis is the garbage product of Nepotism and American Ultra was a chore to watch all the way through

Kristen Stewart is cute. Post disregarded

Great rebuttal. She's gay you know?

You call her gay. I call her a challenge
I enjoyed American Ultra. Should have dropped all pretenses of being a comedy even though it has a funny scene or two.

Yes, suddenly gay. She's bisexual and all of this is a marketing phase.

Landis has serious issues saying all of his films are different from one another when they're all quirky in the worst way possible. Chronicle and Bright, maybe Frankenstein too, also seem very alike with its themes.
Either way, Landis is fine. Nice guy who tries too hard. Not just with his movies, but in life. He cares too much, he'll never learn not to leave something alone. Always defending himself, always hiding.

>Max Landis is a good writer
Eh, not really, it's a pretty poorly written movie. He repeats the exact same dramatic beats over and over again making the movie quite exhausting to watch, not to mention none of it is really all that interesting to warrant sitting through it. Stock characters without any depth, poorly conceived plot twists, disappointing third act, etc, etc. I get that it didn't mean to take itself too seriously, but there was so much you could do with the concept. He has no sense for writing, and is obviously only in the business because of his pedigree.
