This movie was pure kino. If you didn't like it you were one of three things:
>Frog who's butthurt that the french weren't the stars of the show
>nu-filmgoer who can't handle the movie not being a sappy epic character study in representation and gender/minority politics
>/pol/fag who can't stand seeing muh nazis lose
>/pol/fag
Drink that aryan blood lad. You earned it my Anglo friend.
idk, although good in a sense that it was suspenseful throughout, it was was a little much. I enjoyed, but didn't think it deserved the hype and criticism it received. Kind of lost its touch by the end of it.

Considering the cucking now happening in England, all those brave men died for nothing. They might as well have let the Nazis have it. At least they shot people instead of cutting heads off.

Was getting caught a part of his plan?

Or alternatively, someone that has actually seen good films and isn't an easily impressed teenager. Dunkirk belongs to them same category of films as Kill Bill, Passion of the Christ, and Tree of Life. Mediocre films that pass as good to an audience with no awareness of the history of film with exaggerated set pieces and melodrama that can be confused for emotion.

It doesn't hold up when compared to films like The Thin Red Line. While it was good, it was superficial. It didn't go any deeper than that.
It should have given greater historical context as I imagine a lot of people who don't know what happened in Dunkirk or how dire things were would not have understood its full importance. The French contribution should have been emphasized. While clearly the civilians on the boats were brave and were essential to the saving of the troops, the French literally sacrificed themselves in actual battle.
Similarly, a lot of the acting was wooden and overly theatrical. It also devolved into memey and clumsy patriotic emotional manipulation which would have been utterly laughable if it was American rather than British patriotism.
7.5/10 being generous
