The Kingsroad was buried in snowfall. The trees that flanked it bared a similar resemblance. That of a blank mess fueled by the wind, dancing alongside the path until everything turned to white. The silhouettes of armed men crossed one tree line to the other. Their cloaks took form from the wind they strode against. The black figures scrolled through the blanketed wilderness in unison, side by side a meter apart.
“We need a fire.”
This was unanimous. The men made quick work of the thinner trees surrounding them, cutting to the dryness within and piling the capable stakes for the cold night ahead. One of them scraped their blade slowly down a portion and let the byproduct fill his pockets. He closed his cloak around himself and the sound of metal meeting metal was succeeded by a bundle of smoking tinder. A bundle that was quickly escorted underneath a secondary pile of wood, spawning the intense light and heat needed to take on the inevitable freezing darkness.
“Alright let’s skin that fucking thing already.”
Another man carrying a fresh deer carcass walked towards a big tree and began to set it down so he could separate the hide from the meal. As it fell from his shoulders to the ground its path was obstructed. The deer fell to the right, and the obstruction slumped to the left side. They all knew immediately. Nothing they hadn’t seen before or wouldn’t continue to see. The shoulders hit the ground with another metallic clang. The fall knocked a portion of snow off the torso and the firelight danced on its immaculate surface.
“That’s castle forged steel.”

Not giving a fuck about writing quality doesn't mean they'll specifically try to air poorly written shows. People liked Sopranos and people like GoT, doesn't mean the show are the same.

If a show had brutal graphic torture in it and people like it, then some other shows would have the same, and some wouldn't... But if everyone dropped the show that had brutal torture, no one else would ever put torture in his shows anymore.

GoT has shitty writting, every episode since S5 has a couple important plot hole (and a dozen small ones)... Plus a lot of shitty scenes like "fart", "I mek joke" and all that, but showfags donT' care, they still think it's the best show of all time. So we'll still get that in the future. If showfags dropped it because the writing quality isn't there, the next shows would have better writing. But as showfags clearly show they don't care about that, it will not be a factor. Good writers will write good shows, and bad writers will write bad shows, and they'll both get aired based on other factors. If showfags dropped it, good writing might have been the #1 factor.

Most showfags don't even see plot holes, and when you piont them out it's the usual D&DIDF, turn your brian off etc..

Well I can't speak for everyone in /got/... I watch it so I know wtf people are talking about in these threads. I really don't care, but if I don't watch it I won'T follow half the stuff. Plus even if you get it, it sucks watching people talk about stuff you haven't watched, even if you know more or less what it is.

And ok, I'Ll be fair, maybe 20-25% of the show (10-15 minutes each episode) is enjoyable - tho not in the first episode of S7, it was less than 5 minutes for this one.


In the first 3-4 seasons I would watch the show the SECOND it aired would pretty much drop anything I was doing to watch it... Now? I don'T care much. Last episode, I finished watching a movie and played some vidya before even watching it, and it felt like a chore really. I was more hyped to go back to /got/ to shittalk about it, and to watch Preston's vids on it, than the episode itself.

So yeah. In short :
-Some of the scenes aren't terrible (a diminishing % tho)
-To talk in /got/ with knowledge of the discussions
-Habits I guess

That's the thing, seasons were necessary to determine a pattern around the sky. Without season, we would have taken much longer to find out that the constellations had cyclical movements.
We would probably have begun counting time with moons. And as the moons only set a "small" period (a month) ancient people probably would have made an arbitrary stance to determine a greater period of time. For example, 10 moons would be a year, and people would count time like that.
The seasons were our first compass to identify a pattern and call it a year. Now I'm not fully familiar with asoiaf universe... Were the seasons always unbalanced? Ot they were annual until something put them off the tracks? If the later, the lore might have certain inconsistency as how the primitives would identify the pattern of a year without the seasons.

If there are flaws and I saw them, it's not me who is to blame for "Looking out for flaws", it's the show for putting them in the first place.

When I saw it live, first thing I thought was, wtf her entire chain of command (including herself) is there in front of the gate.. If there's 5 archers on the castle they can end the Targaryen dynasty in 5 seconds, GG?

And then they come in and oh, the castle's empty, guess they're not getting shot by a hundred arrows...
then 0.1 second later, WTF, why is the castle empty? No one EVER leave a castle empty in the entire fucking story, and for good reason, it's stupid. And if you were to leave it empty (I mean, D&D made show stannis stupid, so why not) then someone else would take it. Because castles are like, valuable.

If you didn't think there was anything else with that scene, you're not really paying any attention. Yeah, I wouldn't see any flaws if I was half-assedly watching the show, drunk, while masturbating, petting a cat, watching some sport game at the same time and talking to a friend on the phone. But anything else, you should pick up on stuff like that without "Looking for flaws".

Do you think a castle is a pile of gold waiting to be conquered? Do you have any idea of what it means to seize a castle?
You need men to hold a castle. To make it work. Hundreds of them. You need money to sustain your men. Given it's an island, you need a constant supply of ships bringing resources. You need a reason to occupy a castle. A purpose. What is the purpose of anyone of stannis army to remain in a castle in the middle of the sea after their king has been utterly destroyed?
The only viable claim for dragonstone would be either from iron borns or cersei, precisely to avoid the dragon queen to take it. The iron fleet already sided with either cersei or dany, and cersei has no intention of fighting Daenerys now, given her fragile circumstances, she's surrounded by enemies, the Lannister army is undermined and tired of war, her best chance is to stay on kings landing and hold her fortress there. The only people that could possibly take the castle were occasional pirates and travelers. Not for holding it like a kingdom, just for usage as a alternative port and deck. These sorts of occupants would certainly flee the moment they saw a thousand ships on the horizon alongside three fucking dragons.
Now, to further dismiss your stupidity: it's obvious for anyone with half a brain that at least some of Daenerys men got on the island first, and gave a green flag that the place was safe for entry. The show doesn't have to show every single detail of her arrival. It can't. It's obviously implicitly told that they made sure the fort was available before docking their ships. Only autists like yourself wouldn't see this.

See what happened when Bran sent those men away. Fucking 20 guys took the castle, killed a lot of people, the north fell, Robb struggled with his actions and this might have been a key part of him losing the war and getting everyone killed.

Ok so the first thing you need to know about stanis is that he holds duty and honor above almost anything else
The rightful King brienne mentions is not the rightful King. This man is renley baratheon who is stannis' little brother. Now Robert baratheon who is King at the beginning of the show is stannis' older brother. He won the throne in a rebellion.
Robert didn't have any children with cersei, joffrey tommen and the other are Jamies. Because of this when Robert dies, it means the next baratheon in line for the throne is stannis. Renley however decides he should be king even though he is behind stannis in line. He takes a bunch of the houses that would have pledged to stannis for his army.
Since stannis views duty so highly he thinks that it is his duty to be king even if it means killing someone close to him, if they are impedeing his ability to take the throne.
Long story short, he kills renley takes renley troops and tries to take Kings landing. He fails, gets more men and does his duty as a king to help the night watch defend the wall. He kills a bunch of the wildlings and then marches south to take winterfell and thus the north. Now in the book stannis loves his daughter above all else. The show writers hate stannis and this is where things diverge (among other things). Stannis' burns his daughter to try and take winterfell, sacrificing her to the fire god. He ends up losing and brienne is still angry because she was a member of renleys guard (because renley danced with her one so she loves him) and stannis killed him.
People like stannis because he did not actually want to be king, but viewed it as his duty so he went after it anyway. And while all of the south is fighting over the iron throne, stannis does what the king is supposed to do and defends the wall. Plus he was the rightful King since when Robert took power he stripped the targerians of all claims.
