Is it fair to put a digital film and a film shot on 35mm film in the same cinematography category? If shooting on film is harder then why should a digital film get the same award?

Cause a film being harder to make doesn't make it better. No idea where people get this erroneous idea that something being more difficult to produce means it's higher quality.
