hello anons
I'm not really a regular around these parts, only lurk occasionally, but I was wondering what /tv/ thought of Horace and Pete
I just finished it and kinda liked it; well, I'm a bit confused, I sort of understand what it was about, but...not really I guess; at the end I felt what it wanted me to feel, but I also had a bit of a "what was the point of all this?" after-taste
it was quite different than most stuff I've seen, and unexpected coming from a comedian, with a mostly-comedian cast
the acting and the long shots were great though, and I really liked the use of silence throughout; it also had a bit of a theatrical feel, like it was a play on a stage
it didn't have a point
it was louis ck copying shit he likes just because he can
>>85262300
what did he copy?
>>85262300
you are a massive pleb
it's ok, it's just important that you accept it, and stick to tv shows that you can understand
>>85262507
b-but could you at least reply to the OP?
It's really sad when comedians start buying into their own bullshit. Dude thought he could go from poop jokes to being the next Eugene O'Neill or something.

There's a long interview between CK and Maron about the making of H&P. It goes into a lot of behind the scenes stuff/writing.
>>85262706
so what didn't you like about it?
>>85262791
cool, thanks anon
somehow didn't think of looking up interviews about it
>>85262223
well what more do you want from it?
it had great directing, a few GOAT performances, you got the feel of it being more liek a stage play with the long takes instead of constant cuts like most tv shows.
it was a great character study, it doesn't have to have an obvious 'final point' to end on neatly
the fact that you're thinking about it and it left an after-taste as you put it is a good thing, how much shit do we watch these days that is instantly forgettable.
the cast was ridiculously good, I sort of can't believe he talked them into it, listen to that maron podcast that >>85262791 posted it is really good, not everyone in it was his first choice he approached.
>>85263075
yea the acting is what really sold it, I finally felt like they were actual people and not just actor x and actress y
probably better it didn't have some grand moralizing ending I guess
Was there a scene in this or one of C.K.'s other shows where a woman wakes up in Louis' house, and is terrified because she doesn't remember anything, then Louis walks in from the left side of the screen and offers the hysterical woman a plate of eggs? I'm pretty sure I saw a clip like that on youtube. I'm aware that it's practically identical to the pasta, and that's why I'm unsure if it's a false memory.
>>85262223
The point seemed pretty obvious to me.. don't be a Horace.
>>85263322
well not really, she was well aware where she was
it's the one where the black chick fucks him and wakes up at his place
he just offers her some scrambled eggs that he made and she stays for breakfast
>>85263494
Was that in horace and pete? I don't watch his shows so I've no idea what to search for.
>>85263736
yea, it's episode 7, second half
but it's not really like the pasta, as unfortunate as that is, so don't get your hopes up
