Why does the 5th season get so much hate?
During every rewatch I like it more.
Yeah the newspaper storyline was a bit weak, but not that terrible. It also had a lot of charme and season 5 McNulty is by far the best McNulty.

Will this be an enjoyable read even if I'm not a leftist?
I'm a libertarian, so I'm all against the war on drugs and even though I fucking love The Wire more than any show ever it seems like David Simon gave it a bit of the typical "we need more government, it only has to be in the RIGHT hands with the RIGHT people this time" vibe that leftist always spout.
