First time I've ever seen Hunnam in something and thought "damn, this guy can actually act." Funny what a good director can do for a mediocre actor. Great film, too bad it's so overlooked.

Friend took me to this and I was very pleasantly surprised. It wasn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination but goddamnit it felt different and I was pretty engaged for that reason alone. I couldn't wrap my head around how it got made in today's studio system. Then I found out it got obliterated at the box office and that's why weird films like this don't get made nowadays.

Looked absolutely beautiful too. I turned to my friend right when it ended and said it looked like a film shot by based Khondji. Mfw his name popped up on the screen wth DP credit right after.
