I finally watched Waynes World last night and it was actually really good. What are some similar movies?

PCU is prime 90s Kino.
Also, it's basically the world we live in now.

Check out Wayne's World 2.
One of the few comedy sequels that isn't painfully disappointing.

Wayne's World 2 is pretty great. Most people will tell you it wasn't quite as good, but I think it's better.
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is a similar flavor and came within a year or two of Wayne's World.
Some good comedy from the mid 90s. Mallrats. Clerks. Tommy Boy. Coneheads (some people say it's shit but I always thought it was funny, a real 90s flavor too).
It's very hard to say what exactly was different in the 90s, but despite our notorious nihilism we had hope and optimism for the future. People were much happier. Our culture was still a rock and roll culture (it began to transition into a hip hop culture about 98, by 99, it was hip hop dominant).
But the great thing about tv, music, and movies; is you can really time warp to that period and get a feel for what that era was all about. The 90s were golden, I just wish I knew it at the time and appreciated it when I was there.

I remember thinking this movie was sort of funny.... but I think it was a made-for-tv comedy central movie. I think they intended to make more of them, but it wasn't a huge hit so they didn't continue making them.
