>It's a director who can't act makes his silly side character the main focus of his own show episode
>David Lynch
>can't act
His scenes in the new season are some of its best though
Everyone with average emotional intelligence can act.
>hires a bunch of big name actors
>gives them 5 minutes of screentime
>gives himself more screentime then any other character on the show
Bravo Lynch!
I liked the smoking scene with Laura Dern. He takes a drag from her cigarette (He probably hasn't smoked in a long while). He says something like: "We used to smoke together way back when." Funny cause they probably used to on the set of Inland Empire. He almost seems emotional about it. Nice weird emotionally strange scene. Was he pining for the past?
On the whole I don't like the new series yet though.

emotional intelligence, when you want to excuse idiocy with street smarts but you don't have them
ITT
Describe the moment when you realized that David Lynch was a hack who's career has been artificially propped up by his status as a socialite in Hollywood.

Lynch just gets up from the directors chair and walks into set, hes not even supposed to be in nay of the scenes. They just keep rolling and the oter actors have to improvise. If any of the actors slips up, Lynch has them escorted of stage and lynched in the back.

He still has his moments like the Richard Horne introduction scene and much of episode 8, but the new season is 80% garbage
This is nothing new with old famous directors, people just stop giving them constructive input, no one to challenge him and this is the result
