I think Daenys arc with the dragons and all has always been the worst plot of GoT. Its always been at its best when it tried to be as realistic as possible and avoid all the fantasy heroics we have all seen a thousand times. GoT was the one series where brave honorable teenagers got the violent death they get in reality, the series where smart ruthless psychopaths rule the world. The series used to be rather subtle with the magic, classic fantasy stuff, at least on westeros. The best scenes were usually two people talking and plotting.
