I'm a producer and I will never stop blu ray streaming or ripping announcements of movies and torrent site can go fuck itself. I will never stop.

Plenty of people buy DVDs and blue rays. Remember there are millions of people that barely know how to operate a cellphone so torrenting is not an option, many others think stealing is immoral.

People who aren't plebs and care about video quality, and supplemental features, still buy blu-rays. Only underage kids and NEET manchildren torrent movies.

Ultimately the answer is 'no'.
Movies hit theaters before they are made available on physical discs and video-on-demand services, and the reason behind this is to maximize ticket sales before introducing films to the home market. This is obvious. To suggest that producers should forgo a large amount of their ultimate profit just so a few extra people would go see their films in theaters beforehand is completely asinine. People who don't watch movies in theaters simply don't care to, and it has everything to do with monetary reasons. Ticket prices too high, concessions are too expensive, can't get my mom to take me, mom didn't give me my allowance because i'm grounded, etc, etc.

It's no coincidence that when a film hits the home market (and thus becomes available to pirate) a huge amount of discussion emerges on /tv/. The reason being, most of the posters on this board are underage kids who don't have the means of watching many films in theaters. They'd rather torrent, stream, or just NOT SEE IT.
