prime kinoplayer has just released its final version. what media player will you move to? I'm thinking mpv

What difference does it make what player you use? Serious question, does it change the quality of the video?

>>85035342
Yeah, thank God

Imagine if it was one of those shitty interfaces meant for tablets with the giant buttons and the slow response times due to useless fancy UI animations

kind of, madVR/mpv scaling algorithms can make 720p video look like a 1080p video, smoothmotion can synchronize the video with the display and make the video seem slightly smoother and dithering can fix the banding in shitty videos. there are a lot of things normalfag video players like vlc lack.

How can anyone use that? I tried using it for a period of 3 months having just recently read that that's how long it takes to form a new habit.
I realized after a month that everything had a slightly yellowish hue. Whatever attempts at fixing it proved futile. Carrying on as I were determined to give it a try, I thought it would be kind of a welcome cinematic experience.

I had to stop after the second month and start putting on the wife's colorblind glasses that I got for her last year because the yellow hues of the color-spectrum felt like grains of sand in my eyes

>defending the fact that it cant play a popular media format, no matter how ancient it is, while the competition can

Haha oh wow.

MPV is garbage.
>>
>>85044460
people that have good taste and not only watch 2017 normie shit all day
>>
>>85044460
This might come as a shock to you but movies made in a certain era aren't suddenly going to be on BDs. So to answer your question: people with taste. But I can already tell you're not on KG. That's the only reason you'd shill an unfinished media player.

you have to go back

At this point in time there's nothing I/you use (play) that would necessitate an immediate uninstall. MPC will do a perfect job for at last 3-4 years.

>>85045147

t. 14 year old that leeches off his parents internet access to download pirated media

>>
>>85045325
As long as MPV continues to have less features than MPC I see no reason to use it either. But hey.
>>
>>85045702

I just don't like MPV's 'minimalism'. Having to add your own shortcuts/macros to 'read next file in folder' was a fucking pain. I salute the fact they went more basic than even MPC, but fuck there's just some stuff like a minimum GUI that I see as necessary. I'm not always at the keyboard to hit shortcuts, but I do have the mouse and it's easy enough to press a little next button when I'm 2m away lying in a chair or bed, than it is to use a keyboard. I'm sure there's was some additional functionality to generate a GUI like that but I wasn't going to spend 20+ hours figuring out how. I wanted a media player that werks and MPC is that.

mpv is a sleek asian
mpc is a coal burning white single mom
vlc is a a 60 year old indian woman that lives off a garbage dump
>>
>>85045930
but mpv does have a gui with the basics that shows when you move your mouse
>>
>>85045930
mpv is an advanced media player, it's not supposed to be easy to use for tech illiterate people, don't listen to people shilling mpv here, it's a great player, but even devs say it's not targeted at everybody
