1. Everyone needs Role Models and for better or worse TV characters provide that role models and someone for little kids to look up to and aspire. The SJWs and Feminists probably want more role models for little girls. Only issue is there's already a lot of real life role models.
2. Jobs. Supposedly, there ain't a lot of good roles to play for people who aren't the SJW's favourite target. Christ no. I love Missy but Moffat handled that terribly. The best way to handle it is to not make a big deal about it and carry on as normal. Missy wasn't that at all. She changed her entire name, forcefully kissed the Doctor, "the bitch is back", etc.

Go outside and talk to people who actually watched the show before Moffat took over. The new showrunner helps, but a lot of them would genuinely come back, even for just a little while, to see a female Doctor even if Moffat were writing them.

The show needs a defibrillator, and a female doctor is less of a risk than it ever has been- hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they kept this as a sort of ace in the hole to keep the show alive in-case it ever tanked in ratings. Maybe the only reason we're getting Jodie now is because Series 10 averaged less ratings than fucking Season 26.

the only reason i'm worried about a female doctor is that they'll handle it the way they handled AsBill. I don't want them to make a big thing out of it, just make a few jokes about it like the doctor always does about his new body, and then get on with it. But i'm very afraid they'll make her spout SJW bullshit, and just bring it up unnecessarily so we get sick of it, like they did with bill's homosexuality. I had no problem with the scenes where she was actually being a lesbian, but i was sick and tired of the the constant "oh by the way i'm gay" scenes and hit-over-the-head-with political bullshit by the end of this series.

Capaldo was spouting plenty of that crap too though, don't know what happened this season. I guess i just dont want that crap in who, male or female doctor.
