They are really bizzare, think they are getting to the point where they are watchable again. The amount of suicide jokes are unsettling, it isn't really funny, watchable though.

Essentially, but it also quantifies what the simpsons was, the context of its creation, what it represented, and what exactly made the show decline as hard as it did. If you need something to read on the toilet, I'd give it a shot.

Because the first 7 seasons of the Simpsons were written by an all-star team of amazing writers that have since left the show. It's just like when John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, etc left SNL and it was never as funny after. The Simpsons characters were just avatars for these comedians' jokes.

Once you remove your original talent, you can't expect a comedy to be the same.
