The only good character in the story was the gay roommate, and he was written out for the most part. His arc isn't even finished in the film.

Scott was a dick. Just cause he realized he was a dick doesn't make it right. Knives could do better, ending up with him wouldn't have resulted in a good end for her just because she wanted him. She's just a high schooler after all, she doesn't know what's good for her.
