Not reallt. They'd collapse if they all acquired intelligence to rival that of humans.

Their very society relies on them being dumb, and quite literally being able to follow the crowd. And should they all become intelligent like the apes, then they'd probably come to know feelings like ambition and greed, and it'd shit everything up since there's only two or three queens for every thousand worker ants, and ending that subservience would mean killing off their colony.

Well even more so.

Ants can't survive on their own. Their only means of figuring things out is with their numbers, and if you bestow intelligence on them, they'd become more likely to want to serve their own interests, what with becoming more sentient and all that jazz. So it would ant society as the clean-cut, organized thing as we know it nowadays.
