Why did they let Olyphant ruin Deadwood? All of his scenes are unwatchable.

Nah, Bullock and his long coat were pretty awesome. Some of his scenes are a little "off" (he later revealed he didn't understand a good chunk of his dialogue) but he is still a great character backed by a solid performance. The part where he beats the shit out of Corey Matthews' dad is a great scene.

I think he did a fine job. Bullock is a character that is almost perpetually frustrated by a desire to be decent which is constantly sabotaged by his anger issues. He expressed that kind of aimlessness well and always seemed like a guy that was on the verge of snapping. He does the quiet gentleman and the angry gunman well enough. His character isn't incredibly dynamic beyond that, nor particularly charismatic but it's more the character than the actor.
Olyphant has shown tons of charisma in other roles.

>he didn't understand a good chunk of his dialogue
That explains why he always has that confused look on his face, considering he came off like a literal retard in a "good chunk" of the show. Apparently the one emotion he was capable of showing wasn't even acting.
I think Jackie Chan could've done a better job as Bullock tbqh, or at least could've understood the dialogue better.
Cast of DW was perfect fuck off.

Can I ask what crawled up your ass?
You misspelled McShane
I dunno he certainly came up short against Ian Mcshane and others in terms of handling the dialogue but I always liked him in the role. His awkward line reading adds a lot to the character

Pretty sure Olyphant crawled up his girlfriend.
I don't want a Deadwood movie anymore, Ian is too old now and all his speech seemed to be slurring almost in American Gods.
olyphant looks the part, but he really can't act.

but maybe because he doesn't give a shit about Brian Fuller garbage and Deadwood was the role of his career.
